How to Update Your Year-End and Starting Odometer

Enter Your Year-End Odometer Reading and Starting Odometer for the next year.

Note: To make sure you have the most Up To Date Mileage Rates be sure to install the most recent version.  The mileage rates are loaded to the app be sure to sync with the web to update the information.

This guide will walk you through creating a Trip for the Ending of the current year and Beginning of the coming year.
To complete your reporting and ensure that you have the most accurate Total Mileage for the year and the coming year.

How to Update Your Odometer Reading on the TripLog App:

  1. Trips Page > Green Arrow Icon > Manual Input > 

  2. Fill out the Information for a Trip for December 31 (be sure it is after any recorded trips for the day)  Pick any location that is relevant for you. Recommended Activity would be Uncategorized

  3. Make the Trip at least 0.1 mi (or km) to ensure it is recorded.  The trip ending mileage will need to be the Year End Odometer Reading.

  4. Make a note that the trip was manually added for the Year-End Odometer Reading.

  5. Save the Trip

Repeat for the next year Starting Odometer Reading for January 1 of the following year. The trip beginning mileage will need to be the Year Start Odometer Reading.
Repeat the Process for each of your vehicles.

How to Update Your Odometer Reading on the Web Dashboard:

  1. Log into the Web Dashboard navigate to https://triplogmileage.com/web/trip

  2. Click on Add Trip at the top left

  3. Fill out the Information for a Trip for December 31 (be sure it is after any recorded trips for the day)  Pick any location that is relevant for you. Recommended Activity would be Uncategorized

  4. Make the Trip at least 0.1 mi (or km) to ensure it is recorded.  The trip ending mileage will need to be the Year End Odometer Reading.

  5. Make a note that the trip was manually added for the Year-End Odometer Reading.

  6. Save the Trip

Repeat for the next year Starting Odometer Reading for January 1 of the following year.  The trip beginning mileage will need to be the Year Start Odometer Reading.
Repeat the Process for each of your vehicles.

To Run your Completed Reports Navigate to https://triplogmileage.com/web/report/list

You will need to record your Odometer Reading for the end/start of the year for each vehicle you have.
